State License Renewal

The 2017 Code Update needs to be completed to renew your license at the end of 2019.
First EITC offerings: Sat. 2/23 & 3/2, Thurs. 2/28 - 4/4

Previously, licensees were sent renewal paperwork specific to the license in the mail and had the option of renewing online or by completing the paperwork and mailing the form and a check to the bureau.  Unfortunately the mailing of the renewal notice and processing of checks delayed the timeframe for BCC to receive paperwork, process renewals, and issue licenses.

In the upcoming renewal cycle, licensees will receive a postcard notification of the impending license expiration with instructions on how to renew their license online.  The online system can process payments via credit card, debit card, or by e-check so all previous payment options will still be allowed.  The payment processing and issuing of licenses with the new process will provide a much more timely turnaround of license renewals.

BCC has instructions on how to renew a license online, but they advise licensees to register for an account and link their license before attempting to renew online.  These instructions can be found at: https://www.michigan.gov/documents/lara/License_Renewal_FAQs_02-21-2018_616012_7.pdf  They can also be found from BCC’s main webpage by selecting the online licenses/renewals, permits & plan reviewbutton, clicking on FAQs on the upper tab, and selecting license renewal FAQs.
